MEET THE COACHES
SHEA MATHEWS Coach Mathews is a former standout XC runner from Redwood High school where she also played soccer and lacrosse. She has coached the girls JV lacrosse team for the last few years. A recent graduate from Boston College, she currently teaches science at San Marin. She is also an avid traveler and spends most summers working in Lugano, Switzerland.
Jack VeneziaJack Venezia is a senior and co-captain for the boys varsity xc team. In his free time, he likes to go on long scenic runs in nature and play/listen to music, rock being his favorite. An interesting fact about him is that he has been playing piano for 10 years and enjoys playing all styles ranging from classical to jazz.
Liam KellyLiam Kelly is a senior and a co-captain for the boys varsity Cross Country team. He has been a member for three years and also ran in middle school. He also enjoys other sports such as Volleyball. A fun fact about him is that he sand in the Swedish choir.

ADAM WILLIAMSCoach Williams hails from Huntington Beach where he played soccer and ran track at Edison High School. A marathon and 50k runner, he will participate in his 57th marathon in the Marin Ultra Challenge on June 3 and 58th in the San Francisco Marathon on July 23rd. He currently teaches English and Social Studies at San Marin.
Grace-may hansenGrace-May Hansen is a senior and varsity girl's team co-captain, she has been on the team since the mid-pandemic season her freshman year. Outside of Cross Country, Grace-May loves to rock climb and is a barista. Additionally, she is Arts and Culture section editor for the San Marin newspaper: The Pony Express, and the Recycled Closet Club President. A fun fact about her is that she knows the words to every Taylor Swift song, and listens to "Ready For It?" before every race.
manvitha kancharlaManvitha Kancharla is a senior and the varsity girl's team co-captain, and joined the team in her junior year. In her free time she loves to listen to music, hang out with friends, go to the beach, and watch sunsets.

About The Team
Cross country at San Marin is a no-cut sport; we accept athletes of all abilities. Practices are Monday-Friday after school, so just come to room 918 at that time to talk to the coaches about joining. Our team works hard to ensure every runner is in the best shape they can be, but we also pride ourselves on creating a fun environment that students will enjoy!
